Description

Chris Pappas is the founder and one of two guitarists in the Toronto based Post-Hardcore band, Adam in the Bayou.

If you’ve ever listened to the Bayou you’ll know that musically they’re diverse and their guitar tones reflect that, so when Chris came to us requesting a 52mm spaced bridge humbucker with a bit more kick. We gladly took him up on the challenge.

Building off our Big Slice design, we altered the design and build of the pickup. Still using a brass base plate, this design calls for a traditional Slug and Screw pole piece arrangement as this specific pickup required a chrome cover. The key difference here is that this particular build uses Heavy Formvar wire, this isn’t a typical magnet wire used in humbucker design. This was our first sign to try something new. The result is a pickup when wire in series reads at 12.4KOhm.
