When Corrigan approached Strom on being somewhat of a “guinea pig” for a prototype Humbucker, Strom graciously obliged. After a few discussions on what he liked and disliked in a pickup, as well as knowing the signal path and tone he prefers, the Firestorm was born.
The FireStorm is a 12KOhm fire-breather wound with Poly coated wire placed over a fully charged AlNiCo II magnet.
With the higher than average output of a P.A.F style design, coupled with the AlNiCo II magnet and the four conductor configuration. The FireStorm has all the versatility one could want from a working man’s pickup, with enough clarity and harmonic richness to cater to multiple genres such as what Strom plays.
